Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Social Work (DAISW) was founded in 1994 and today it is one of the leading academic institutions having Social Work faculty upto post graduate level. In this 21 years DAISW has delivered many meritorious students to the society who are now driving the key positions in the Social Structure and ultimately causing the betterment of the Society.

The Institute has been affiliated to the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. In India Professional Social Work Education has become a challenge. Professional Social Work is highly Scientific discipline due to increasing problems and the developmental needs of the country. This course is based on sound theoretical knowledge, well developed skill and techniques.

The focus of the under graduate level (SSW) was to prepare gross root level workers i.e. professionals for direct service delivery. The focus of the MSW course was to prepare field level functionaries for more specialized services requiring higher degree of knowledge, skill and professional attitudes. The course is, intended to prepare functionaries for middle & higher level supervisory and administrative work. It is also intended to prepare functionaries who would be equipped for understanding and conducting research, social policy, analysis and training. The curriculum has broad scope which helps the student in reforming their learning during Field Work where students experience their first hand real time situation. The Institute strives to provide socially relevant education and to prepare responsible citizens of the country.

Candidate who have passed certificate course in Social Work (C.S.W.), Higher Secondary School Certificate examination (H.S.S.C.), Pre-University / Pre-Degree or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University are eligible for BSW course.

Graduation in any discipline from recognized University. Candidate appearing for final year examination whose results are awaited can also apply.
